AT THE END OF YOUR BUSINESS DAY

Know what you sold. Understand what you kept.

Sales are only part of the picture. Bring recorded costs, expenses and unpaid balances into view, so your next decision starts with clearer numbers.

YOUR BUSINESS · AN ILLUSTRATION
Business day at a glance
SALES IN THIS EXAMPLE Rs 24,800
Goods cost − Rs 18,400
Expenses − Rs 1,200
Recorded net profit Rs 5,200
Sales ≠ cash ≠ profit

Illustrative workflow and figures — not live business data.

Less guessing at closing time. More useful answers.

A busy day can leave the cash drawer looking healthy without telling you whether the business made a profit. Some customers paid an older balance. Some sales are still unpaid. And the goods you sold had a cost. invo.pk gives these questions their own reports instead of treating one headline sales figure as the answer to everything.

HOW IT WORKS

A clearer way to handle business reports

  1. 01

    Choose the period and branch

Start with the business day or date range you want to understand. Where your access allows it, choose a branch or review the wider business. Use the same period and scope when comparing figures across reports.

  2. 02

    Separate sales from profit

Look at sales alongside the recorded cost of goods and expenses. A sales report helps explain trading; profit and loss helps explain what remained after recorded costs. Missing costs or expenses mean an incomplete picture, not free profit.

  3. 03

    Review what still needs action

Check customer receivables and supplier payables separately from sales. Use product and inventory reports to see what is selling and where money is tied up. Download the relevant report when you need to review it with a manager or accountant.

THE EVERYDAY DETAILS

Ask a business question, then open the right report

How did trading go?

Review sales over your chosen dates and compare periods using the same scope. Product performance shows which items contributed to sales. A quiet day and a weak-selling item need different decisions; neither is explained by a cash balance alone.

What is still owed?

Receivables help you follow up with customers who have unpaid balances. Payables help plan supplier payments. These are outstanding obligations, not extra sales or cash already available to spend.

What did the day leave us?

Review your day-closing information and profit reports alongside payment records. Recorded profit is not the same as cash in hand: credit sales, collections of earlier debts and different payment methods affect the two differently.

A FAMILIAR SITUATION

A busy day is not automatically a profitable day

In the sample report, sales are Rs 24,800, recorded goods cost Rs 18,400 and operating expenses are Rs 1,200. The remaining Rs 5,200 is the example’s net profit. If part of those sales is on credit, the same Rs 5,200 is not necessarily sitting in the drawer.

Keep cost prices and expenses complete before relying on profit figures.

BEFORE YOU START

Make your reports worth trusting

  • Maintain product costs and record goods received correctly.
  • Enter business expenses rather than leaving them on paper.
  • Record returns, voids and customer payments through their proper workflows.
  • Check date range, branch scope and business timezone before comparing.

YOUR QUESTIONS

Business reports, explained simply

Why are sales, profit and cash different?

Sales record what you sold. Profit considers recorded costs and expenses. Cash depends on actual collections and payment methods, including money received against older credit sales. Review each question separately rather than expecting one total to explain all three.

Can I download reports for a selected period?

Reporting pages let you choose their supported filters and download the relevant report. Check the date range and branch scope before exporting, especially when comparing it with another report.

Are pending offline bills included straight away?

No. A sale waiting in a device’s offline queue is not yet an accepted online transaction. Confirm those sales have synced before using online figures to close or compare that period.
