Which barcode format should I use?
- CODE128 — the best default: compact, supports letters and numbers, ideal for internal SKUs.
- EAN-13 / EAN-8 — retail products with an official GTIN (13 or 8 digits).
- UPC-A — common on retail goods (12 digits).
- CODE39 — older/industrial scanners; letters and numbers.

What barcode formats are supported?
CODE128 (the flexible default, good for most products), CODE39, and the retail EAN-13 / EAN-8 / UPC-A formats. Pick the one your scanner and labels expect.

What value should I use?
For CODE128 you can use any product code or SKU. EAN-13 needs 12–13 digits, EAN-8 needs 7–8, and UPC-A needs 11–12 digits — the tool will warn you if the value is invalid for the chosen format.
