How GST is calculated in Pakistan
Pakistan's standard General Sales Tax (GST) rate is 18%. To add GST, multiply the amount by the rate and add it on. To remove GST from a tax-inclusive total, divide by (1 + rate ÷ 100).
- Add GST: Tax = Amount × Rate ÷ 100 · Gross = Amount + Tax
- Remove GST: Net = Gross ÷ (1 + Rate ÷ 100) · Tax = Gross − Net

Frequently asked questions
What is the GST / sales tax rate in Pakistan?
The standard General Sales Tax (GST) rate in Pakistan is 18%. Some goods and services carry different rates, so this calculator lets you set any rate you need.
How do I add GST to a price?
GST amount = price × rate ÷ 100, and the gross (tax-inclusive) price = price + GST. For example, 18% of Rs 2,500 is Rs 450, making the total Rs 2,950. Roman Urdu: Rs 2,500 par 18% GST Rs 450 hota hai, yani total Rs 2,950.
How do I remove GST from a tax-inclusive price?
Net = gross ÷ (1 + rate ÷ 100), and GST = gross − net. From a Rs 1,180 inclusive price at 18%, the net is Rs 1,000 and the GST is Rs 180.
