Reorder Point Calculator
Estimate the stock level that should trigger your next supplier order—before a fast-moving item runs out.

At the current average, you may reach the reorder point in about 3 days.
How to calculate a reorder point
For example, if you sell 5 units a day, delivery takes 7 days and you keep 10 units as a buffer, place the next order when stock reaches 45 units.
Recalculate seasonal and promotional items more often. A single average cannot predict a supplier delay or a sudden rush, so treat the result as a starting rule and review actual stockouts.
Frequently asked questions
What is a reorder point?
The reorder point is the stock level at which you should place the next supplier order. It aims to leave enough stock to cover expected sales during the supplier lead time, plus a safety buffer.
What formula does this calculator use?
Reorder point = average daily units sold × supplier lead time in days + safety stock. It is a simple planning estimate, so review it when demand or delivery times change.
How do I choose safety stock?
Use a buffer that reflects demand swings and supplier delays. A stable product from a reliable local supplier may need less buffer than a seasonal product with uncertain delivery.
Does the result tell me how much to order?
No. The result tells you when to reorder, not the order quantity. How much to buy also depends on available cash, storage, supplier minimums and how many days of stock you want to carry.
